Acronyms

Years ago, I volunteered to lead my younger daughter’s Girl Scout troop. Then, when my other daughter’s troop leader left, I stepped into that role, too. Supporting girls’ individuality and helping them grow and achieve fulfilled my desire to make a difference. To reach their goals, I encouraged them to use the acronym PRIME and ask themselves:

P:           Plan. What’s my goal? How can I reach it?

R:           Recruit. Who can help me? 

I:            Include. Who will support and encourage me?

M:         Manage. Where can I improve or make changes? 

E:           Evaluate. What works? What doesn’t?
